The Kid rode with shoulders set and Cooper watching the Kid’s shoulders did not speak but turned his head and looked back and in the softening distance he could just make out two figures. Halfway back along the road to the Bandit Citadel the boy paused with the mule’s rope slack in his hand and looked after the riders.
