The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs And Their Tale Of Rescue And Redemption (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I had to read this book for only short periods of time because I was either trying to read through my tears or was so angry & upset that I had to walk away from it and calm down. The third part, the stories of the dogs themselves, I read in one sitting though and I'm happy that for most of the 49 dogs, the ending was a happy one. It was definitely a moving account of their rescue & redemption and worth the emotional roller coaster it sends you on. I almost stopped reading this after the first couple of chapters, not because of the writing, but because of the pain it caused my animal-loving heart. In fact, I skipped a chapter or two, but I'm glad I went on and finished, because the story of these dogs and the people who believed in them is heartwarming. I laughed, I cried, I hated Michael Vick and his cohorts with a passion. I could have done without the italicized sections signifying what the dog was feeling, however.
What do You think about The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs And Their Tale Of Rescue And Redemption (2010)?
I hate Michael Vick. I hated this book unless it stops more dog fighting rings. Gross.
