The Lost Fleet Beyond The Frontier Steadfast (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
Summary: Another enjoyable military SF soap opera. This ones quite disjointed but really comes alive towards the endPlotline: Is all ok, but doesn't really seem to be going anywhere ... until the last section of the book where things start to get very interesting again. Looking forward to the next book.Premise: Yes, a universe that works well, aliens, battles ... all goodWriting: Excellent, simple, descriptive, compellingEnding: Things really start to happenPace: Never a dull moment Jack Campbell (who's really John Hemry) brings some new elements into THE LOST FLEET: BEYOND THE FRONTIER: STEADFAST (Whew! What a title!). The war with the Syndics that we've been following through many volumes is over, but lead character "Black Jack" Geary now has to worry about possible elements within his own government that may be hoping to start the war up again.Campbell/Hemry continues his streak of compelling storytelling with this latest volume, and as usual his experience as a U.S. naval officer helps make everything believable, from the technology to the relationships among the characters. Highly recommended.

Excellent as always. The only thing making me sad is that I have to wait a year for the next book.
