DNF but giving it two stars because it was so good to start with. Here's where I lost interest: Raeven (the explanation of the extra E in her name was ridiculous) HATES Cutlass so much that she wants to KILL him. They see each other a few times and she decides that she no longer cares that he sunk her fiancee's ship, effectively killing him, because she's horny. And it doesn't happen slowly. At all. One minute she wants to kill Cutlass and the next she wants him in her pants. But that's okay, because she didn't love Timothy as much as she loves Cutlass. Oh, did I mention that she realizes she's loved Cutlass from the first time they met? GAG. I've read some great books where the heroine deals with a loss and grows from it but it usually takes the entire book for her to do so, not a few chapters because she wants the hero. I will give Shana Galen another shot because her books are pretty highly rated and I've already bought a few that sounded interesting. Just glad this one was from the library. I enjoyed the book from start to finish. While the the storyline remains the same, Pirate causes damage in damsels life, she seeks revenge, the two somehow are thrown together, smoke, heat, attraction then separation till finally reunited and happy ending I found Ms Galens work entertaining and her detail to the time period refreshing. She takes you into another world and makes you want to live in that period. Definitely recommend.
What do You think about The Making Of A Rogue (2011)?
Great "swashbuckler" romance of the sort I've been missing lately. I love me some pirates!
