I liked this book a lot and read it very fast. Can't give it more stars because all these books have a handicap and that is that we all know the basics of the plot: good and virtuous girl with a good education (economical situation varies) meets a rich man (usually from the aristocracy), they are strongly attracted to each other and after several difficulties and misunderstandings, they live happily ever after. That said, this book had a couple original elements that I can't tell here not to give away key parts of the story. I would certainly recommend it to the fans if historical romance. Eh - this was okay. There were some rolling of eye moments but it was a cute concept. I have to say, the necklaces reminded me of the BFF necklaces. Those were so popular in the 80s. I bought one with my BFF and then she moved away several years later. When we finally met again, we were night and day. Turns out, she thinks sex is a bad thing as is any type of make up. I wonder what she'd think of me now. O_o I digress.
What do You think about The Marquis (2008)?
It did start off slow but its getting MUCH better as I read
