"The More Things Change" was such a delightful read. Despite its short length, there is so much to love about this book: it's well-written, it's filled with warmth and affection, and the lead characters are extremely charming and lovable, and together they are just perfect. In addition, there is a wonderful cast of minor characters that complement the storyline and also the main couple. This is one of those books that I just didn't want to end. Highly recommended! The blurb pretty well sums up the story.Bryan is going to school and working trying to help his widowed sister Chloe and his young nephew Wyatt with bills and support. He's put his dream of medical school on hold for his family, but he has Aaron his best friend since forever, who is there for him,his sister and his nephew.Bryan slips up and kisses Aaron who then gets him to admit that not only is he gay but also harboring feelings for Aaron. The blurb already gives away that Bryan isn't alone in his feelings and they quickly move onto a more physical aspect of their friendship and love.Aaron is a mechanic and in the reserves and also seems to enjoy posting things online immediately. The story is told from Bryan's POV but I always felt I knew what was going on with Aaron too. Chloe and Wyatt were nice additions to the story without taking over .I had to suspend disbelief a little that they were totally clueless about the other man's feelings as well as Chloe being in the dark. My only niggle was the phrase 'little Bryan' was used 10 times by Bryan in reference to his penis in this short story. This is a very sweet, light, conflict and angst free short that is a great quick pick-me-up between heavier or darker books.
