The Murder Room: The Heirs Of Sherlock Holmes Gather To Solve The World's Most Perplexing Cold Cases (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I don't know why people hated on this book so much. I really loved the story of the Vidocq Society and the stories from Bender and Walter. I think it's amazing what these people did, and it's because of their talents and passions. I mean, the only flaw I found was that it wasn't as flowy and smooth as it could have been. Other than that, I highly enjoyed reading this and am actually going to research more about the Society! Ugh. This book had tons of potential, but it never delivered. Somewhere between the author and the editor, a book got lost in an unorganized mess. If the book had a clear focus and direction, it might have been a great piece of non-fiction, but instead the reader is ping-ponged between snippets of (potentially fascinating) cold cases and (way too many) personal details of the main four detectives.

I love mysteries, but I didn't finish this book. Just couldn't get into it.
