This book tells the stories of Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric, and Christiane Amanpour. It tell us about their youth and their growing into female powers in the news. It tells us much that we did not know and a lot of information about what was actually happening behind the news in their lives and TV lives. Well researched and well handled.J. Robert Ewbank author "John Wesley, Natural Man, and the Isms" "Wesley's Wars" and "To Whom It May Concern" I have mixed feelings about this book -- it almost read like an extended People or US magazine article. It's very heavy on gossip. It wants to be about feminism and keeps trying to fit itself into a structure but overflows with gossipy anecdotes. They were interesting -- but the author doesn't seem to quite know which way she is going. I enjoyed it but I'm not sure I learned very much about women in TV news, so much as I learned about the personal lives of three very interesting women.
Incredible book on the careers of Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Christiane Amanpour.
