he gestured with the gun. “Pick it up.” I leaned down slowly. I didn't like the idea of looking away from him, but I didn't think he would suddenly attack me. It wouldn't have made any sense. I knew that what he wanted from me wasn't going to be as simple as a flat out attack. I picked up the bag and put it on my lap before opening it.
