The Pride Of The King (Historical Fiction About Bold Women) (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
This book was absolutely wonderful. This story was beautifully plotted. It was full of love, betray, lies, hardships and everything else you can imagine. I truly fell in love with Lauren and St Clair. They are most wonderful together. I loved so much how Lauren returned to the orphanage at the end and meet up with her sister, Simone. I would have absolutely loved if Lauren returned to Kaskaskia to visit Anne and Rene (I would really like to know what happened to him and his mother after all those years), but she didn't and that's ok. Amanda Hughes got a free pass with that one when she made sure St Clair lived! This book was really good, and I believe that this book should have way more people how've read it. 4.5 stars .... Would have been a full 5 stars if the ending hadn't ended so abruptly. This was a fantastic book that kept me enthralled the entire time. I read too late into the night and neglected other responsibilities because I simply couldn't get enough! I love historical fiction! I love adventure, drama, and romance. I love solid writing. This book had it all. I just wish the ending could have had more meat instead of ending so abruptly. I didn't get to see their happily ever :(

An okay read. A slow starter for me. Not really my type of book, but entertaining.

It was an ' okay' read but went on too long and became a bit tedious....
