The uniformity of the sound relaxed my body somehow. I found myself laying my head back against the sofa and just reveling in the quiet.
"150 channels and there's nothing on!" Damn it. I ran a hand over my face. I wasn't in the mood to deal with Silas's crap.
"aren't you wondering where I've been?" I rolled my head to the left and looked at him. "Nope. In fact...I was hoping you'd fucking stay there." The dead man recoiled ever so slightly. "Ooh. Still grumpy, I see." "Yeah..." I could hear the exhaustion in my own voice as I put my head back against the couch. "Very very grumpy." "Dude...you have nothing to be grumpy about with that beauty back there," he said, referring to the running water just behind the closed door next to us.
I said nothing.
"You know...I'm a fucking ghost. I can just go in there and take a peak then come back out and tell you all the good bits." "Do whatever you want. I don't care." I had to close my eyes; the dull throb in the back of my head was returning.
