The Rancher And The Rock Star (Rural Gentlemen, #1) (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
Great and entertaining read. I just love romances between celebrities and regular people. In this case, Covey Gray, rock star, appears in Abbey's farm, looking for his son who had escaped from his Brittish boarding school and was posing as her farm hand. The boy, Dawson, refused to go back home with his father, claiming his parents don't have time for him. Covey is forced to spend time at the ranch to make amends with his son and prove he is a priority. I liked the peeks into the world of a rock star, his many responsabilities towards his crew and public. Also, didn't like the part where there is no privacy and they have to dance to the tune played by their agent, who may not be a honorable person, as in this book. I enjoyed the developing relation between Covey and Abby and loved the family interaction between Abbey, Kim, Dawson, and their neighbors, the Merzts. I wish there were more books like this one whereas the gal has her head in straight for the most part and in a good way. Our rock star is 45 years old so he's sowed his oats but no drugs or alcohol issues. He simply needs to connect with real people and E. Mertz and the little town that our gal Abby hails from are what he needs...oh, and Abby too. Kimmy is the daughter of Abby and between her and Grays son, Dawson they teach the holders and learn some too. Pretty wholesome but not prudish. Good lessons all around. Read.
