My thoughts were on a man I both wished I could forget and clung desperately to all at the same time. Why I did this to myself, I didn’t know. But every morning, it was the same. I grimaced as I glanced in my rear-view mirror at the frustrated driver behind me, threw my hand up in an apology I wasn’t entirely sure he would see, and accelerated to free the buildup of traffic.
