The writing style is right up my ally, I guess I'm a sucker for emphatic syntax. Especially after the eye-rolly romance of The Winners Curse, it was nice to find a (a, as in only one) down-played and undramatized love interest. Almost cried a few times. I enjoyed some of the ideas this book put forth- a great candidate for book club, or at least for Kate, and also Jaime and Lauren. Plot AWriting A5 stars out of 5 I read this book for a graduate class I was taking this past summer. I probably would never have read it otherwise, but I'm so glad I did. This book was amazing. My daughter ran track in high school and I feel like Jessica's reaction in the book is typical of any athletic teen. It was very easy to connect with her. I'm not gonna lie either it made me cry several times, but it also made me laugh out loud some too.

Easy read, great story. It seemed like it could be true even though it wasn't.
