I really loved the first book, but this one not so much. I don't know why but Agatha, Sophie and Tedros were so stupid and I had a really hard time reading about them and now talking about it is even harder. It is stil a good story, but I have mixed feeling about it and it was a very slow and hard read for me because of the main characters. I enjoyed the other characters more. I really like Filip and Hester. This series continues to enchant me. I am trying to figure out why, and I think it has everything to do with the author. Soman Chainani is a highly gifted storyteller. The plot just keeps giving, with twists I never see coming, and which don't seem trite. His characters are solid, and "good and evil" labels don't apply to the ones we care about. There is plenty of humor and a great gender discussion thread in "A World without Princes".
