The Secret Life Of Prince Charming (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
The adventure in the story is really interesting and unique. The book in itself seems very philosophical in a way because it really digs down deep into the idea of love and different perspectives of it. I really like Jake and Frances Lee and how all Quinn's father's past partners are all actually nice but how it was Barry who was the problem with all of the relationships. The way everyone comes in together as a family creates one of those happy endings that I like :) “Unconditional love is a dangerous thing without heavy doses of mutual respect.”I have loved (loved, loved, loved) every Deb Caletti book I have ever read, and ‘The Secret Life of Prince Charming’ is no exception. In fact, even approaching this book with incredibly high hopes, not only was I not let down, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is definitely my new favorite book.Deb Caletti finds a way to express the worst aspects of love—especially love without mutual respect. ‘The Secret Life of Prince Charming’ is chalk-full of inspiration, lessons, and memorable advice. I was highlighting paragraphs on every page, saving bits and pieces of the advice for when I’d need them again later—need them most. Everyone could learn from main character Quinn’s story and the stories and experiences of those who surround her. This book was able to bring attention to the mistakes we all make with love, and touch upon all the awful traits of men who don’t love us equally; and yet, the book was FILLED with hope. As I read, there grew a sense of empowerment—same as there was for Quinn. I experienced this journey along with her, lived it and learned from it, grew, and left with the hope of one day finding my own prince. I learned that unconditional love with mutual respect does exist—and can be found even when (especially when) we doubt we’ll ever cross paths with it.I highly recommend this book for anyone who has struggled with love, for anyone who loves love, or for someone who just wants to read a well-written, uplifting book. ‘The Secret Life of Prince Charming’ is a beautiful story, and you won’t be disappointed.

A road trip book about family. Which sounds super generic, but it is really good and well-written.
