"Crazy leaves clues." Truer words have never been written. I laughed because I recognized each and every character. I cried because the struggle is real. The Secret She Kept does a wonderful job depicting mental illness and the attitudes towards treating it within the African American community. Our mothers are our first ally, and despite shortcomings, they truly want the best. What a awkward position to be put in- your mothers adamant opinion or what you really know is best for you. RTB never disappoints! Can a Secret keep you from staying with the one you love?Lance Kingston a successful magazine executive has it all,Everything but the women of his dreams.Refusing to settle for less he stops looking until he meets Tia. Tia is a women all about her business.Burying her self in tons of work keeps her busy so a love life in not even on her mind.When Lance And Tia bump into each other he feels like he just have to have her and nothing will stop him from getting her.Tia agrees to a date but deep down she knows that the secret she is keeping can run any man away that ever meets, but once she gets to know lance their life just take off.Once Lance find out the secret will he be able to handle all that comes with it or walk away from his true love?Hats off to ReShonda!!!!!! This was my first story by her and I must say that I really enjoyed it.The message in this story was great and very informative.The characters grab you straight in. You can feel every emotion that they are going through. At moments I was laughing and then turning around crying.Cant wait to read more from this author.
This was a really good book, listened to it on our vacation during drive down south and back home.
