Very interesting book with good strong action narrative and compelling themes, just wish I could invest in the characters a little more. (Full disclosure: this book was set in and around Cleveland, Ohio. I've never been to Cleveland, nor have I ever wanted to. The most I have heard about Cleveland has been mainly in punchlines to sports jokes.) The book has a multitude of religious themes of power corrupting and evil fueling the end of the world. I must say I enjoyed the book, for the most part, and think Mr. Thorn has some potential ahead of him. I really enjoyed the overarching concept he played with in this book about religious zealots bringing about the downfall of society. I think there could be more about how it actually happened or developed (i.e. a prequel focused on the international cabal). In conclusion, The Seventh Seal is a nicely written novel with some very interesting ideas about a possible apocalypse. I really enjoy reading this genre of books and was looking forward to this. I was not disappointed. I started reading this in the morning of 17th May and finished it at teatime on 18th May, only stopping to sleep, eat and work. John wakes up and finds everyone he sees dead and the military taking over. John teams up with Nick and they go looking for John's wife Jana all the time evading the military. It soon transpires that a religious order is behind the coup and the men realise that it is worldwide. This is not the book for those who are easily offended, but is well worth reading. Just remember it is fiction not real life!!
What do You think about The Seventh Seal (2000)?
great book if it did not have all the filthy words in it

Not a terrible book, but it needs an editor badly.
