I'm not quite sure what I think of this book. I swallowed it whole, reading till long after everyone else was asleep. I enjoyed parts and was confused by others. The book flips between different times, post apocalyptic just ahead of our time and a millenia earlier following soul mates through. I found this a little confusing at times. It's a mixture of urban fantasy/paranormal/love triangle/ cheating rat bag. I was confused by the fact that a soul mate could prety much dislike and be uninterested in their partner unless their skin touched when it was like an addiction. maybe this is covered in book two or three.I may read the next book I'm not sure when, probsbly when the last one is out already. Well talk about unfairness in all its untamed glory! Trinity could not have said it better, some prophecy that was! She's a stinking gift to a man whose free to live his life any way to pleases, gets to have sex galore, touch and kiss whomever he wants! Poor Trinity can't even peck a guy without wanting to barf unless its the man she was born/made for? WTF!! That shit was just so unfair! With that being said, this was an excellent and interesting start to a very promising trilogy. It was a definite page turner with all of the Romani and Gypsy culture, language and folklore. It was a different twist on Vampires, certainly one I've never read before and Ms. Sheehan also gives us the POV from Gerik and Trinity's ancestors, which isn't long nor tedious but just right! Its hard to choose either team Gerik or team Xan, both are utterly sexy alpha men and yeah, Trinity was made for Gerik so I guess she belongs to him, but does he really love her or does he only want her because he needs her to contain half his magic? Because she was gifted to him? Because she was made for him, his supposed soul mate? Xan on the other hand, started off an asshat, still is kind of an ass but has always admitted to being in love with Trinity...guess I'll have to keep reading to see what troubles Ms. Trinity finds herself in!Overall, great story line, colorful characters and good action...FYI: Ends on a slight cliffhanger, its obvious you have to purchase book two to continue the journey of Trinity, Gerik, Xan and the others...
