The Spring Of Candy Apples (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
The final book in the Sweet Seasons, and in my opinion, the best one of the series. Its full of surprises, and deals with the changes that can happen at the end of High School. It gives a good message about how to handle those changes, but also how to stay true to yourself in the face of those changes. I truly enjoyed reading the entire series, this book especially, and only wish that there were more books like this one out there for children to read! *Note: more of a review of the entire series than the final book itselfI've recently read all of the Sweet Seasons books in order, and it's really a very different effect from reading them more spaced out as individual stories. This was the first time I've read Sweet Seasons sequentially, and I was surprised to see how much Candace changed from the summer to the beginning of the spring. A lot is said about how The Zone has changed Candace, but to be honest, I never really saw that much. I understood that she met great people, but I really felt as though Candace was altering their lives for the better instead of the other way around. Reading them this way, though, I can really see how much The Zone and its workers did for Candace and what she has done for them. The Zone is almost a character in itself in this series, and I would love to go to this theme park.I was really pleased to see things turn out well for Candace, and The Spring of Candy Apples sums everything up in a really nice ending.

I liked Fall of Candy Corn better, although I'm glad that Candace finally figures out her life.
