The Stranger She Married (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

I know I am being nitpicky BUT the front cover doesn't match the writing of the book: the type of mask, the color of their eyes, her seductive look. This is a CLEAN adult read. A wonderful story with mystery and romance. Glad I took a chance on the recommendation :)Lady Alicia is sweet, kind, and innocent. Her suitors are anything but. Luckily, an onlooker rescues her from them by arranging a marriage with a kind man, like herself. I loved, loved, loved all the conversations / interactions between the main characters and discovering why so many of her family members were having "accidents."Great regency era read for 17 & up. Content is trivial: 2 swear words, a few descriptive kissing scenes, and a few pistol fights. Alice bugged me, she was a bit too thick for me. One minute she loves Cole the next she hates him because she is afraid he will break her heart so instead she marries a masked man. She cares for her husband but doesn't want to make love to him because he's ugly and can't stop thinking aboutthe handsome Cole whom she rejected. What an idiot. She caused all her own problems. Spoiler below..There was one error that I found, they said Alice's dad had a daughter with his lover yet it was Hamiltion who showed up as his son for revenge. Then Mrs. Dobbs, why would she want to kill Cole? He had nothing to do with her mistress.

What do You think about The Stranger She Married (2008)?

This was a cute predictable book. I've read better but it was a fun quick read.
