The Sweetest Taboo: An Unconventional Romance (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
The format in which I wrote this story follows my characters’ narratives. My writing style may be off-putting to some. You will notice that the name of my heroine, micah, appears in lowercase letters throughout the tale despite the rules of grammar. This occurs when she refers to herself and when Rick refers to her. micah refers to Rick using capitalized pronouns. You will also notice when referring to Himself, my hero, Rick, uses capitalized pronouns but when speaking of, to, or about micah, He uses lowercase pronouns. In some D/s circles, this is common when writing text. It is not the standard, and not all people use this method when writing. Some even take umbrage to its usage. I chose this method to denote the Dominant and submissive dynamic in the relationship. This style of writing will not be everyone’s cup of tea and I am fully aware of that fact; however, it is authentic to my writing process. I wanted to provide readers of this novel some insight into my methodology.
