I thought that this book was a cross between Professor Xavier's school for the gifted in X-Men and the TV series, Alphas. I found it to be very enjoyable in the beginning, but the middle of the book gets slow. I was waiting for something to happen and it took until the end of the book for something substantial to occur. While I am intrigued I hope that the other books have a little bit more action in them. “The Candidates by Inara Scott.” Personally, I fell in love with it as soon as I begun it. It’s a Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance story; revolving around Dancia Lewis, who has a very interesting (and cool) power. Dancia, is a fourteen year-old girl, who has a very cool power, however, she’s afraid to use it because normally someone gets hurt, reason why she tries to blend in. Dancia, lives with her Grandma, who is full of wisdom! The grandma was one of the best characters. Dancia, was recruited to go to Delcroix academy. Delcroix is a private school that Dancia thought she’d never go to. There is a love triangle, you have Cam Sanders: high school jock, pretty boy, teen heartthrob. Then theres Jack Landry: A rebellious, awesome, lonely, tough guy (who I love and think he was the best character.). Dancia is thinking about her love life though the entire book (which can be VERY annoying, however, what fourteen year old doesn’t think about that.), but she also wants to make she her power doesn’t go of and blow something up or that they be used for the good. Some things that the book brought up was: trust, telling the truth, hiding information about important matters for the good, being loyal, and being there for someone. The book over all was amazing and kept me reading it. I can’t wait to start on the next book!
