The Tantric Principle (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

Arianna needs to relax and de-stress from her busy high-powered Ad exec job. Grant learned a valuable lesson the last time he got involved with a student. Of course if each one stuck to their principles we wouldn't have a book to read! So one weekend they let temptation have the better of them and go for it. Of course the sex scenes are fabulous, but not overly done. The plot (yes there is actually a plot) is good and will keep your interest. This was not some wham-bam-thank-you Ma'am type of short sex-manual book. A lot of thought and style went into this story. Both characters are well fleshed out which surprised me since you don't normally find that in this genre from most authors. The Tantric Principle will keep you interested and turning the pages to see if they can both get what they want and need in the end. And who knows, it may make you curious enough to try Tantric Sex. Of you enjoy reading about men and women being driven to unimaginable levels of pleasure, until they think they’ll pass out of die from it, and then Jennifer Probst’s The Tantric Principle is the book for you. Arianna is a hard driven advertising executive who has sought out yoga as a way to keep some balance in her life and prevent burnout. Grant Madison is the yoga instructor who drives up her lust even while helping her find a place of peace from her high powered world. When they give into their desires for more another, Arianna discovers that Grant practices tantra, the art of denying one’s own sexual release to enhance your partner’s.On the technical level, the book is sound. Jennifer uses a robust variety of words and puts them together into a story that reads as naturally as one would speak. Nothing in the writing itself will be getting in the way of enjoying the story itself. The story is also good. Lovers of the romance genre will find all the elements they expect, put together in a, for me, fresh way that doesn’t seem like a tired reworking of the same old story.Perhaps the best part of the story is the depth in Ms. Probst writing. Clumsy writers add sex scenes without regard to the story. Good writers add them seamlessly as part of the story. Jennifer Probst goes beyond that, and the sex scenes are a reflection of the story itself. This romance is about control and who will have it; and that’s what the sex between Arianna and Grant is as well. You can, if you’re inclined, see the love story’s parallel in the sexual encounters. Very well done. The sex scenes themselves are good. The physical descriptions and the emotional backdrop are seamlessly woven to give the reader a complete sensual experience. Those who enjoy reading about mild bondage, screaming orgasms and sexual surrender will find their cup runeth over.If I have any complaint about this story, it’s not the book itself, but the blurb. A blurb should not tell ninety percent of the story; it should tease us to read the story. My enjoyment was lessened a bit because I already knew just what was going to happen (for the most part). Jennifer, preserve the mystery, please. I give The Tantric Principle 4 divas and a flame heat rating. Reviewed by D.Weaver 999
