I really enjoyed reading this book, it kept my attention and entertained me. The characters and the plot both were very well written and there was enough surprises I had a hard time putting the book down.Emma Yoder Miller was newly married and she and her husband did a quilt class lasting 6 weeks long. But quilting was not the only reason to have the class. So much more was going on while sewing and have homemade snacks. Each person attending the class had their own private life going on which made for some very interesting and sometimes exciting reading. All was revealed at the end of the book in a big flourish, don't peek. You'll be glad you read the whole thing.I would recommend this book and the others in the Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club. 2nd book in series...I enjoyed this very much.Neither of my libraries carry #3 in the ebook format yet, so it has gone on my wish list. (have to say, the convenience of e-books has really got me spoiled. I use a Roo executive case for my ancient Samsung Galaxy 1, so I still have the book feel, without having to struggle to hold the book open, no messing with bookmarkers to keep your place and easier turning of pages. Very helpful with arthritic hands)Anyway, the positive interaction of an Amish lady with those outside her culture is another winner. As a quilter, I love the classes and the discussions of the work. As a person interested in other religions, the story line is fascinating to me. I appreciate the couple who keep true to their beliefs without knocking those of others and witnessing by action and not just cliche words.
What do You think about The Tattered Quilt (2013)?
Good book but always disappointed when the library doesn't have the complete series.
