This is a birth day present from some of my dear friends & I must say its absolutely unputdownable. Sydney Sheldon is at his creative best. A typical Hollywood masala movie material.A super pace thriller. This is the story of two women- firstly Alexia De Vere, the British Home Secretary, whose appointment creates lot of hiccups. She is termed as the 2nd Iron Lady of Britain and is compared to Hillary Clinton. Her colleagues loathes her… but she is a charismatic lady, at 60 she is still beautiful, in a happy marriage for three decades, with two extremely good-looking children and only one friend, she trusts blindly. Another woman is Tony, a spoiled American girl. She is a bad girl in every respect. She is pretty too. Alexia & Tony are poles apart in every respect. But something connects them. Something very grave. Something terrible happens due to Tony’s momentary negligence and everyone has to pay for that including many innocents. Its an absolute thriller’s delight. A must read for thriller buff…… 10/10. An amazing read! I couldn't put it down....the crime, the psychological turmoil going on inside the minds of all the main characters keeps you hooked till the last page. While Sidney Sheldon would have the female protagonist be in 'victim' mode, Tilly Bagshawe, experiments a bit and subverts - the female protagonist, Alexia, is someone you would hate with a vengeance! Read this if you are Sidney Sheldon fan! :)
What do You think about The Tides Of Memory (2013)?
Not as good as the classic Sidney Sheldon but a great read. The ending was definitely a twist!
