The Trials Of The Honorable F. Darcy (2007) - Plot & Excerpts
I really enjoyed this bit of Austen-inspired fiction, and I probably would not have read it, if we were not celebrating the 200th anniversary of Pride and Prejudice. I like the transfer of the characters to 21st-century America, Elizabeth and Darcy as lawyers, the humor of our hero and the basic plot (which remained essentially Austen's). I did not, however, relish the language or the speed with which Elizabeth reversed her opinion about Darcy. Still it was quite entertaining and fun to read, and I could recommend it to modern readers or those who aren't purists. I thought this book was okay. Not wonderful. I was hoping for another Jane Austen kind of book. As if she was alive and could still write another book. I guarantee you if she were alive she wouldnt' be writing this at all. That being said I didn't hate it either. Just wished I knew what I was reading before I read it. Knew it was a more like today's romance novels, that way I could know what I was getting into.
What do You think about The Trials Of The Honorable F. Darcy (2007)?
I enjoyed this modern story of Darcy and Elizabeth.
