Contains slight spoilers!I loved the plot of this book and was completely drawn by the blurb. The story, however, turned out to be a bit of a flop. The writing wasn't terrible but it took great effort to stay with it. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention but things cropped up later in the novel that were never mentioned earlier.I kept hoping the two women would meet...surely they would. But they didn't. Yes, yes, they sent a note to one another via the doc...*yawn*Save your precious reading hours for something else. I've often found that UK books will have a writing style to them that I find difficult to lose myself in, and this book by Rayner was no exception. I did enjoy the concept and the story she told, however, and had no difficulty reading straight through without having to set it aside for lengthy periods of time.Infertility issues are a deeply personal and highly emotional subject, and Rayner does a fairly good job of portraying the characters' mindset. I especially liked that she showed the "unsupportive family" aspect of this situation, because it is all too common for this to be true of families who choose to use fertility clinics to conceive.
