Damien Whitfield is seeking revenge for those who have took everything away from his father and tossed his mother aside when she went to them for help after he died. He promised his mother when she died that he would never rest under they had paid. That time has finally come and it came in the name of Sierra Monroe. The only problem is that when he firsts meets her, she doesn’t seem to be anything like the spoiled little rich girl that he was lead to believe that she was and why would a father offer to sell his grown daughter to the highest bidder but more importantly, why would the daughter allow it? There are so many things that just do not add up but regardless of that, she is the means to get to those that made his life a living hell while he was growing up. Sierra has no clue who this Damien Whitfield is or how she came about working for him without even applying for a job but it doesn’t matter. She can’t help but be happy that she is finally leaving the prison that she has lived in for nearly twenty-five years. There will no more days of being treated as a no body while her sister gets everything that she has ever asked for while she herself is forced to be her father’s whipping post having been beaten and abused since she was six but now she’s finally free. What does Damien really want with her though? This was the first book in this series that I actually really enjoyed. The first two were just okay at best and the last one I downright hated the hero the entire book. This book crosses over into another series called Billionaire Bachelors that features the Anderson’s. Sierra’s best friend is actually Bree Anderson who is George’s daughter and was the heroine in Runaway Heiress which was Book 6. Book five is The Lost Tycoon that features who I am assuming is Damien’s long lost sister. If you're looking for complex plot and a challenging read, this is not for you. It's tricky to review a book like this as it's a simple feel good love story. I can't compare it to other books I read where there's detailed plot and character development as I read those books expecting different things. When I started reading this book, and others by this author, I was expecting a bit of heartache, characters refusing to admit they're in love, other people causing problems and misunderstandings, and eventually, a happy ending. All these elements are in this book and provided a pleasant few hours reading leaving me smiling at the end. This basic formula means that the structure is widely the same in the whole series but as I was expecting this and wanting a light read, I didn't mind. Perfect for the mood I was in when reading.
