The Vampire And The Virgin (Love At Stake, #8) (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I liked this book. I did not love it. Olivia was a weak character who was very indecisive, and it got to be quite annoying. Her job working for the FBI was completely unbelievable due to her weak nature. And her relationship with Robby/the entire book was an 'i-love-you-at-first-sight-tons-of-misunderstandings-the-end.' Which kinda gets old. Im going to take a break from this series before continuing on, although I will read the rest, I feel like if I don't continue reading them back to back, I'll enjoy them more. "The Vampire and the Virgin" by Kerrelyn Sparks. Book 8 in the Love at Stake series.I really enjoyed this addition to the Love at Stake series. Funny, romantic and action packed. What more could you ask for?Robby is a vampire set on revenge. He's trying to recover from being help prisoner and tortured by the evil vampire Casimir. His family wants him to see a therapist but the last thing Robby wants to do is talk about what happened to him. As a compromise, Robby is sent to Patmos (Greece) for 4 months to take some time to recover. When he's there, the last thing he expects is to meet a Greek Goddess...who happens to be a therapist!Olivia is in Patmos visiting her grandmother. Her grandmother is doing everything she can to find Olivia a nice Greek husband. But it's hard to get to know someone when you're a human lie detector. But when she meets Robby, she can't read him at all. Just when she thinks she could be falling for him, she needs to go back to Kansas City. The criminal she helped convict and is now in solitary confinement has somehow being sending her apples with notes. He must have an accomplice...but all the way in Greece? Or is Robby not who she thinks he is?A really excellent storyline. Robby's growth from revenge obcessed to loyal protector and lover to Olivia was really nice to see. And Olivia learning to trust Robby without knowing his feelings showed real growth in her character as well. Good action sequences throughout and great chemistry between Robby and Olivia. All around and excellent book.
