The Way Of The Dragon (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

I found this book in my local public library. In this book, I think that "loyalty" is most important and is expressed throughout the book. Jack Fletcher, is a 12 year old English boy who ends up in Japan because of a shipwreck. Loyalty is like the big idea that is expressed throughout the book because in the book, Kazuki and his family betrayed his school and country so that they could join Daimyo Kamakura in forcing non-natives from Japan to leave. Loyalty is also important throughout the book because it's loyalty that saved Jack. If sacrificed himself when Dragon Eye was climbing on him to get up and kill Jack, Jack could of died. "As Dragon Eye was driven off the balcony, he made a final lunge for Yamato...but you'll die...I'll die with honor...", this reveals that Yamato is willing to give up his life to save his friend Jack and Akiko. This book had revealed to me that loyalty is very important to friendship.I recommend this book to readers that like Japanese culture and books that teaches a lesson. Young Samurai the Way of the Dragon by Chris Bradford.I rated this book four stars. This book teachers me of a culture other than my own. This book is about one of the Japanese lords trying to take over japan but is building his army under the pretext to expel all gagin (foreigners) but as soon as he got his army big enough he launched attacks on other lords of japan. The samurai loyal to the emperor made refuge in Osaka castle which was apparently impenetrable and they set their defense there but this impenetrable castle soon got proved penetrable. The lord that started the warfare named himself shogun (leader of japan) as the emperor had committed suicide so as to not die by the hands of his enemy. The setting of this text was interesting because it was set in a castle for most of it but didn't get boring.
