The night of the ball he had almost been convinced that she did. No matter what she had said, her actions that night had been enough to convince him otherwise. He had fallen asleep peaceful and content. In the end when he had awoken, strong and sober, Andrew had a completely different version on life. As happy as he had been before, Andrew realized that the elation of that night had been based solely upon the drink they had consumed the night before. How stupid he had been! Andrew was a man of the world. He had grown up to know and recognize the subtle things in life that other people did not even know of. Still he had been tricked. He had let his emotions while drunk be overcome by her emotions while drunk. And though he had been content at the time he now knew that it had meant nothing more to her than that moment.
