Three women whose lives haven't gone according to plan become friends and start walking together in their neighborhood. Their growing friendship helps them see possibilities and take risks they might not have taken alone. This book was a breezy, light summer read. It didn't engage my emotions on any deep level, but I enjoyed the themes of friendship and getting a fresh start in midlife even when things have have turned out differently than we might have wished. This book was a nice diversion on two very long flights. There were many things I enjoyed about the book. I could relate to the main character as far as age and weight issues and making new friends. I also have had many walking buddies that I enjoyed meeting with every day and that I miss now I'm so far away from them. It wasn't great literature or life changing in any way - not something I marked up to remember. But nonetheless, if you were heading out to the beach or on a long flight - I would say take this book and enjoy.
Fun, easy read with a clear message for workaholics. Loved the lavender connections too.
