This was a good easy read. It wasn't my favorite MLM book, but it was still enjoyable and had me glued to it nonetheless. I think that as i've started writing, I've become more of a critical reader and have less patience when a book rambles a bit. It just seemed to say the same things in different ways to try and make a point, that I already figured out the first time. (Which I do in my own writing, so I'm no where near perfect at this either). :)I did love the idea of falling in love with your childhood crush. Also, I loved the idea of Tom "pretending" to court Cedar, but I wished it would have been played up a little more - to add a bit more tension and excitement. Very typical McClure novel...which means it was a passionate (and yet clean) romance novel that is perfect for an entertaining escape every once in awhile. If you're looking for substance it's not for you, but it's a nice dramatic romance novel perfect if you need a dose of that sort of thing occasionally. Her first original four books are really really good and the rest go downhill in plot and character development and end up being pretty much different versions of the same thing; but, like I said, entertaining escapes every once in awhile.
What do You think about The Windswept Flame (2000)?
LOVED IT. McClure has a way of infatuating the reader. This is a good one.

Love me some romance. No one writes a kiss better than Marcia.
