This was a great book, I had assumed that Jane would be the second to marry. It was very nice to learn more about Damaris. Damaris comes across very cold and distant to those who don't know her or attempt bond with her.Freddy immediately has a reaction to Damaris and denies to himself why he followers her around and makes this young heroine his business.I found myself biting my nails, wanting desperately to know about Damaris' past.A must read.I can't wait for the next one. Anne Gracie is my favourite living romance novelist; she never disappoints. The Winter Bride is the second in a Regency-times series featuring four plucky young women trying to make their own way in the world, and finding all sorts of trouble along the path towards true love. Read The Autumn Bride first, but have this one close to hand as once you’ve read one, you’ll want more. I’m just hanging out for the next in the series now.
