The Witness And The Bear (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

I liked the story, and really liked Hannah. She was so down to earth, and had a good head on her shoulders; I'm looking forward to reading more of her. Looking at other reviews, there seems to be a lot of controversy about the hero cheating or not cheating. My take is that there was NO cheating. I could completely understand the position Riker was in, but when it came to the psycho chick attempting to force sex on him, the man, and then his bear, went crazy, and prevented anything from happening. I'm looking forward to reading book 2. I'm quite shocked at some of the reviews on here and literally find it quite funny. I get that some people are annoyed about the whole possible cheating action but doesn't anyone get that this is a story and it isn't realistic scenario. I get that cheating is bad trust me I do I know how that feels and I get where some people are coming from cause even if he didn't do it he still went there to and left her thinking he was going to which can be seen just has bad, cause if my boyfriend went to cheat on me whether he did in the end or not I would be really mad. But the thing that gets me is that people are solely focusing on that when no one can really judge the author for the cheating scenario in the context it's written when this isn't something that would ever happen in real life. I mean if your just looking at the cheating and was a different book without the bear thing and the laws then yeh I get the anger but just imagine if you went to another country you would have to abide by their laws whether you agreed with them or not, cause that's what this is like she practically stepped into a whole new world and even though she didn't agree with the laws she was going to abide by them but in the end he couldn't do it and went back to her. But what I find most annoying about the book and peoples opinions of it is more people are focused on the cheating rather than what he did at the end, he was going to cheat for his people he made her think she was going to die and be tortured to help her, personally I would rather be cheated on that taken to my death, yeh he may have saved her in the end but what if that man hadn't left the room and decided to quickly stab her and get it over and done with she would have been dead. Yeh he may have had good intentions but he still risked her life in doing so and I certainly wouldn't forgive someone that quickly, if at all, if they had done that to me, so forgive me if I don't get why everyone so mad how he went to cheat on her but didn't when he nearly got her killed, who cares if he a bear, he didn't know how many people were in that building or the possibilities of them being armed. So yeh liked the story but hated the ending and don't get how people are more bothered about a story about cheating than possibly being taken to her death by the one she loves and putting her through all that after knowing what she had already been through.
