There's Something About Her: A Manhattan Love Story (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I read this series out of order. I read this book first and the author did a good job covering the back story that I didn't feel like I was missing anything.Contemporary romances can seem to string together with the similar themes. This one was better than some of the others out there. The author did a good job including other characters and their stories throughout the book to keep it interesting. This helped keep my interest going. I started to get attached not only to the main characters, but also to the supporting characters. The story itself had a good steady pace without too many monologues. I appreciate when the story is told through the dialogue between characters rather than the emotional rant of a character. The female lead, Maggie was refreshing and not whiny. In fact whenever someone tried to push her she pushed back without being over the top. The male lead, Vincent was perfect! He was strong and smart without being over controlling. Ok, with the small exception of manipulating a situation for alone time with Maggie to make his move. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys the predictable outcome of a contemporary romance. I know I enjoy a well told "happily ever after!!!" This was a fun read. It's a follow on to Find Her, Keep Her. Maggie is Jack & Charlie's cousin, but more like a sister. She is under-employed, working for the boss from hell, but otherwise living a SITC kind of life -- with the fun and best girlfriends. Anyway, Jack knows she is miserable in her job and makes arrangements for her. Turns out she briefly went to high school with her new boss, who may have blocked her chance with her crush - his best friend. Anyway, read the book -- lots of fun, sex & hijinx. Enjoy.
