These Days Are Ours was a puzzling and provocative read, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. While the characters aren't all entirely likeable, Haimoff manages to still make them relatable. The book is heavy with emotion, but light with dialogue and description- and by that I mean nothing is forced, and everything fits and works well.My only complaints were some cheesy moments and an overall lack of plot. On the whole, though, this book was somewhat moving and definitely worth reading. It's about a group of twenty-somethings in New York City. Privileged children struggling to come into their own in a post-9/11 NYC. I couldn't relate to their lifestyle, but their struggles, and particularly the struggles of the main character, Hailey, were very relatable. Searching for a job and a boyfriend, coming to terms with divorce and family issues, and fighting loneliness. The writing is wonderful, and the dialogue is particularly written well. Despite the serious topics, it's downright funny at times, and it took me back to that time in my own life. Recommend.

easy read about some NY college and post college friends not a huge story line but I enjoyed it.

Good dialogue. If you feel it's pretentious, then it's not the author, it's the character...
