3.75 starsLet me first say that the back of the book/synopsis is a bit misleading. I thought Madison found thinspo and it encouraged her to become anorexic (or continue her anorexic tendencies). Instead, this story is about a girl who becomes anorexic, her parents and friend tell her she is thin and has to stop starving herself, and 'then' finds thinspiration online (so the latter of my previous sentence was correct). The synopsis made it out like the thinspo is what did it, not the comments of others or her insecurity/self image.Aside from that, the story goes back and forth between her memories (what lead her to getting placed in the clinic) and the present (life at the clinic). It was a good read but one thing has left me a bit...edgy. The ending was rushed, the "tragedy" of a fellow anorexic wasn't as intense as I thought it would be. I don't want to spoil it but I will say this; I thought it was an inmate. I don't know why it bothers me but I just think that the story could have gone on. There was enough material there for the writer to go on just a bit more, to see how differently she treated her family and friend(s). Then again, the point of the story was that Madison saw the light, that she needed help, and that's what is more important. My only complaint (aside from the synopsis and ending) is that Maddie came off a bit too annoying. I understood why she felt/thought/acted the way she did but it was obviously not for me (a 21 year old), it's more for the preteen to midteen.Overall, I enjoyed this book, it was an easy read, fast pace, and rather interesting. thinandbutifle.com was a verry intrestin book. It was verry intence thogh it was about a girl .Her mom thinks shes fat so she desiseded to loose wegit but figers out that making her self puke was a faster way to lose weghit and thean she got relly thin and hear friends convintced her that she dosent have a eating disirter and as the book gose on her family seends her away to recovor but she dosent she sill makes her self throgh up i thoght the book was verry sad but also intence in some parts.
