Thirty And A Half Excuses (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
Rose Gardner continues her journey of self-discovery. It's interesting and fun to ride along as she puts her petty detractors in their place. Half mystery, half romance, with a dash of chick-lit. This series has stayed fresh for me so far. I get caught up in how Rose manages to prove all the petty people in her Arkansas small town to be wrong. Some of Rose's neighbors and relatives are too awful to be believed -- then when I stop to think about it, I realize I've known people like that. O.M.G. Each book gets progressively better and better. Rose is in a mess of trouble, again, but its more than that. Its man issues. Oh my. My heart broke in this story. I wanted to kick several people in their heads! Gosh people can be mean! & idiotic! & deceitful! But Rose rises above all that. She is a spectacular character - believing the best of people unless proven otherwise. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books to see what happens next!
