I enjoyed this book because it introduces simple math addition without using numbers. It is done instead with words. I found that, yet again, this book did a really good job of connecting math to the real world even if it is a little silly. A great activity after reading the book would be to allow each child come up with their own silly equations and then use them to create numerical equations. 2nd and third grades. I loved this book! As a former elementary math teacher this touched me in so many ways. What a fun way to look at life : ) and to ask children to see things from maybe a little different point of view. I loved the yes + no = maybe, and tall + coffee = adult! Not so enamored with sitting + bored = school : ( School shouldn't be like that. I think this would be a great read aloud for most any age especially as an ice breaker at the beginning of the year or maybe an assessment at any time to get a feel for kids' response to just about anything. Very cool book!
Loved this picture book :-). Can't wait to use it with my kids at school!!
