Thorn And The Blossom, The: A Two-Sided Love Story (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
Well, I thought it was just such a sweet book. Though you pick up on the premise really quickly, it in no way lessened my enjoyment of the story. This is a great book for anyone who loves sweet romances, fairy tales, or books about books/folklore. Plus, it gets about a billion brownie points for being an absolutely beautiful physical object. It's definitely something you can get through in two hours. It left me wanting more! So I really enjoy all of Theodora Goss's short stories I've read; I think she's a wonderful writer. There's nothing wrong with the writing in this novella, I just don't like such straight forward romances. I kept feeling like I was in a Nicholas Sparks novel, just better written with arthurian legends thrown in, which, admittedly, does make it better than your average romance. Also, this book needs a binding. I dropped it so many times! Beautiful illustrations though.I'm still going to read anything Goss publishes, because her short stories are quite lovely, this just wasn't my genre.

It was more like a short story than a novel, but interesting.
