This is the third book in the "Embroidery Mystery" series by Amanda Lee. These are definitely toward the cozy end of the mystery scale; the protagonist, Marcy Singer, owns an embroidery specialty shop in the small town of Tallulah Falls, located on the Oregon coast. Each mystery features a particular kind of embroidery, which I enjoy, being a stitcher myself. In this book, a bridezilla wants some jewels embroidered on her wedding dress, then her mother-in-law (the source of the jewels) is found murdered outside the door of Marcy's shop, The Seven Year Stitch. Marcy ends up In addition, Marcy, who's single, has to deal with her almost ex-husband (he left her standing at the altar) because he's decided they should get back together. There are also two men in Tallulah that are also interested in her, so this provides continuing entertainment. A slight but satisfying read. I liked this one. The mystery was not simple and easy, and there were some good red herrings. Marcy's friends were interesting, but there were not too many, and none of the quirky or zany variety. Marcy's ex-fiancé was truly detestable, but not over the top. Marcy can be a bit blunt in her investigations - I cringed when she asked delicate questions point-blank. I didn't care for her being torn between two boyfriends - the plot didn't need that distraction. I will definitely look for the other mysteries in this series.
