Through These Eyes (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Isaac and Carter are quite simply one of those couples that stay with you long after you have put their book down. I think it has a lot to do with Isaac being blind. I can also honestly say he is just a very unique character all around. The way these men see each other has a great deal to do with the Blind Faith series being absolutely unforgettable. I’m not one for following a couple into another book once they managed to get their happily ever after. These two men are so interesting that I jumped at the chance to buy their follow up book. Through These Eyes picks up about a year into Carter and Isaac’s relationship. Isaac is involved so of course nothing is simple and easy. While they are happy they still have minor struggles that Isaac simply makes more difficult with his personality. Carter loves Isaac’s quirks so they are what can only be described as happy for them. There are a couple of things that happen that affect both their lives and the added strain is a little more than either man handles well and that is when this book get really intense. I spent much of the book screaming at Isaac, huffing at Carter, and then just crying like a baby. I thought these men had faced enough trials already. The hurdles that N.R. Walker puts them through this go round was just heart wrenching. The issues would strain any relationship. Isaac and Carter’s are new enough that it has them both questioning things for all the wrong reasons. They’re such a great couple to read and love. Favorite quote, Carter to Isaac: “You see me just fine.” Oops. Accidentally read the second book before the first. But easy enough to follow. I'd rate this somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. Very readable, but the the characters (and the ending) were also completely predictable. Romantic misunderstanding is the crux of the plot. I didn't enjoy as much as some of Walker's earlier books. Since I have the first book I'll likely read later this week.

What do You think about Through These Eyes (2013)?

On e again, Isaac's insecurity gets them into trouble. Gah. It was still a really good story.
