This is a collection of 4 novellas set during the years of World War 2, during the holiday season. The first story, Coming Home, is about a returning vet dealing with survivor guilt. While I enjoyed the story, I felt the ending was wrapped up a little too quickly and neatly to be believable, but I am also more willing to suspend belief when it comes to a Christmas story.Remember Me is about a marine stranded on an island in the Pacific who thinks that his girl back home may have found someone else, and it's a man who has somehow managed to avoid the draft.Shadows of His Wings was my favorite story in this book, about a young woman who has had to marry quickly when she learns she is pregnant, and her husband has been sent overseas, and her parents have disowned her, leaving her alone to give birth to their child.I really loved the last story too, Parachutes and Lace, about two people who put off getting married, until they finally decide with the war on, they may not get a chance if they wait. While these stories were a tad predictable, they are all enjoyable "feel good" stories, perfect for this time of year.
