I don't know if it is the wrong time but this story didn't get me as the four previous books. I enjoy this kind of teenage/YA stuff and maybe it was the time that I read the other books, but this one didn't impress me. It is nice to know a more about the whole story... but, at the same time I think it was just more of the same. I think all the important story was already told on the other books and there was no real need to have this one. The reason why Yesubai did what she did or how she was raised is just a weak supporting story. Don't get me wrong, this was well written, it was all very well explained but I didn't enjoy as I did the other books. I believe a great book is a great book no matter at what age you read it, but if you're not in the right mood or age you will not appreciate it as you should and maybe that's what happened here. The super mega plus side of this book is that it gives a Sneek Peak at the Tiger's Dream book, which, after reading it, I also think that will need to be super hiper ultra cool because I think the Tiger story is over. So just to discover a little more information on the main story already told, I think the book should have been released right after the fourth, when everybody still are salivating for more. But, maybe that's just me. Tiger's Promise is a short novella told in the viewpoint of Yesubai (daughter of Lokesh). If you are a fan of the Tiger's series, you are going to absolutely love this novella. There is something so engaging about the way that Coleen Houck writes. She manages to do exactly what I want with a book- to escape every day life and go on a fantastical adventure. Even within the short range of this novella, I found myself transported to Yesubai's home.I loved getting the back story about Yesubai and Kishan... I just wish that she would have given us MORE. This whole novella could have been stretched into an entire novel for me and I would have loved it- Did you hear me Ms Houck? It isn't too late! Make ME ... erm... I mean everyone another novel in this world!Anyway- all that to say, I loved it and it is totally worth a read!
