Great representation for the genre. A really good romance/paranormal/mystery. I'm late to the party on this series (it first came out in 2009?), but am really looking forward to the next book. My only real criticism - and it's minor - is that there were a lot of characters to keep track of, almost too many. Knowing I was heading into a 6 (?) book series, I was expecting a lot of intros in the first book, but not so many! There is nothing heavy about the reading, but the story line is engaging and it's fun to read! Yes, it bored me to death but I'm giving it 2stars regardless. Not so much for it's redeeming qualities but for myself for having the patience and endurance to finish it.300+ pages, I finished in less than 5hrs. but it felt longer. My eyes kept straying from the pages and my mind kept thinking of other things I should be doing.The story itself is not so bad. I've read it a dozen times before but it's bearable. Barely.A dormant witch and a cursed immortal warrior. Not really original but it has it's potential. Unfortunately, what made this read painful was the heroine. The very definition of a TSTL character. Er- Yeah, 5hrs. is a short time to give a mediocre book but it felt long enough that this review feels too much. The writing was boring, the story unpolished and the characters weirdly stupid and stupidly crazy. Enough said.
