Bernie and Chet investigating again. This time they are looking for a missing elephant from the circus and it's trainer. Eventually the trainer is found dead in the dessert and the elephant is found alive and kicking. Chet the dog sounds like a real person at times. Bernie also is investigating his ex wife's boyfriend and Bernies ex wife finally tells him that she is getting remarried Bernie wants this to happen so he will no longer pay alimoney. Bernie finally tells his girlfriend he loves her. I love these books. They are so cute, funny and heart warming. Chet just seems to be captured so perfectly to what at least I feel a dog would be thinking. The story lines are all relatively similar, with some differences thrown in. But they always manage to entertain me, sometimes to the point of laughing out loud. I also appreciated the nod to gay marriage in this one. It's always nice to see it treated...normally. Any dog lover would love this I think.
