Three tissues, an oh dear and an oh my...I read this in one gulp. A modern day quilting romance. Cait leaves Chicago after the death of her cheating husband to return to Scotland and her grandmother. Her Scottish hometown is also where heartthrob actor Graham lives when he isn't filming. A journalist by trade, Cait has the story of a lifetime in exposing Graham's real life. In trying to decide what to do Cait reconnects with her roots and learns what really matters in life. There were no real surprises here but it was extremely well done and addicting to read. As a quilter, I loved the quilting aspect. I can't wait for the next one in January. When I read the blurb it sounded like the book had a lot of promise. I was deeply disappointed. In the opening chapters I couldn't get past Cait's deceitful attitude toward Graham. She was nice to his face but was still gathering information to betray him with a news story about his life, so she could benefit from it. It really turned me off on her character. I read on, because I liked Graham but I just couldn't get past how little I cared about the female lead and what happened to her. I put the book down and after a couple of weeks just didn't pick it up again. I sent it back to the library without any regrets.
What do You think about To Scotland With Love (2014)?
Totally not my usual genre, but after reading three heavy books in a row, it was a good read!

Wonderful small town story plus he's an actor who's played Mr. Darcy and Colonel Brandon!
