Torn To Pieces (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

I think this book was okay. I think the plot was interesting but the characters were kind of boring and their actions were too predictable. I think Anne is very nice, almost too nice, which sometimes got boring. But a quote that shows she's really nice is, " You were a much better friend to me than I was to you." (245). This shows that Anne is considered a good friend. It shows that people think she is nice. Overall I didn't really like tihs book, I just wish there was more suspense and deeper characters. I was drawn in from the begining with this story of a teen girl with a mysterious mom. When said mom goes missing, Anne soon learns that there are deep dark secrets about her mother, as well as, herself. There was a good bit of mystery and suspense here, and a little teenaged drama to boot. I liked all of the characters and found them mostly believable. There may have been a time or two that I didn't think someone would act a certain way in real life, but overall, a good book.
